My 811 shows two approximately equally spaced vertical stripes on my analog OTA channels (the stripes divide the screen into three panes; the stripes themselves are about 10-20 pixels wide). The reception on these channels is fairly poor (although watchable on a conventional TV tuner); the corresponding digital channels have signal strength generally above 70.

Of course, if I use the sat feed for my locals, the stripes are not there.

I'm curious if the stripes could be a problem with signal strength or the tuner itself (the 811 is a new acquisition, but I got it used; it's running 284).

This probably won't help much, but... I just checked the only two analog OTA channels I watch and neither has the problem you described. I'm nowhere near Cali, and my channels come in pretty strong, but at least you know it's not a problem with all 811's. Good luck.
