921 Return Policy

To be honest you guys are really going crazy with the NBR thing. The world didn't end time to come back to focus ;) This thing isn't as bad as some others. NBR was never an advertised feature of Dish DVRs. They said they would add NBR to their receivers, but it was never an advertised feature when you bought the product.

Quite right - however, they DID say, in public and with fanfare, that they WOULD add it.

THEY LIE, over and over. And it happens WAY too often for it to be "oopsies".

Purchased from E*

My 921 wasurchased directly from E*. They shipped it to me and arranged for the installer. I ended up installing myself after the installed missed two appointments and was late for a third.

Thanks for the advise. Remember, I have seen E* drop one receiver (DVHS), I don't want to go through that again.

It might be interesting to start a list of promises that Dish made that never happen or were lies to show a pattern on the way Dish does business. Please feel free to copy/add
1- Buy a 6000 upgrade and you will be able to receive all future Dish HD channels
2- 921 will be getting NBR in 2004
3- Dish "the leader in HD"
4- New HD channels will be on 105

I am sorry to you 921 owners, I've got an 811, I paid $999 for a TV so I am happy. (i bought their HD in a Box) Anyways, since I basicly bought a TV that actually works fine for me, it makes up for a crappy receiver. I'd be really pissed if I paid $1000 just for a receiver and had the problems I've had with my 811, let alone the problems and empty promisses that you 921 owners are having. Though I've got to admit, for the most part for me at least my 811 is starting to work ok, though it still isn't complete.

Anyways good luck, and I hope things start getting better for us, you know, Dish Networks customers, I mean Beta Testers:)!

5- 1997 (aprox) Charlie:
Dish will never carry any pornography channels.

6. Spring / Summer '04 Charlie (parapraise):
If congress will allow DBS to import digital distant signals for the networks to viewers that can not otherwise receive digital from their local network, Echostar will provide the HD versions of those national networks and we are ready to do this immediately.

It is not just the 921 situation but all matters Dish. I it really hard to fight Dish alone or in a small group. If we can show Dish misleads then we can ask the DOJ or ISC departs of the government to do the work for us - that is make Dish live up to its promises. But we need more than 6 examples and / or a great number of people calling.

I agree but don't expect much. Most people today accept getting lied to. A person's "word" no longer means what it once did. It's the age of written contracts where lawyers and judges have all the power.

People are just not willing to sacrifice for the sake of principle anymore. All it would take is a significant number of Dish customers to organize and form like a "sat viewer's" coalition, they might be able, as a block, leverage Dish or DTV into
a few concessions but it takes being willing to cancel your service if necessary. That's the rub.
