I have a 942 and im trying to learn the difference between single mode and dual mode. When im tapeing indual mode can i watch a different program on the same tv? I keep my tv on dual all the time. thanks harvey

Yes you can. When creating a DVR timer, make sure to configure it to record on TV2. This way you will be able to watch another program on TV1.

The dual tuner dvr's are defaulted to record to tuner 2 from the factory atleast on the 625 and I believe the 522. If you go to menue and then to preferances there should be a setting labeled record plus that has the feature and settings in it.

Ilya where can I find a diagram to hook my 942 up to a second TV?

Diagram? All you need is an RG6 cable going from the 942 to your second room.
If you have existing cable wiring, you might be able to re-use that.
