I currently have cable and would like to also have directv. I there a switch that you can install to select cable or satellite. Something like a A/B switch for your comouter printer ?

Thanks :)

Yes, there are many cable A/B switches available. I use one by Regal that selects by push-buttons. Found it on ebay, and it works very well.

You can also connect the cabletv to the antenna input of your directv STB, to watch cable just shut the directv box off. (I know this applies to the SD/non-DVR stb, however, I cannot speak for the others for sure, but it should be the same).

For a DVR, all you need to do to access the off air antenna is to put the DVR in standby. That switches the rf output to the off air antenna.

yel-mel,

If your TV has Video inputs,
Run your cable into the rf input on back of TV.
Run the sat signal to Video 1 , or into an HD input, if that applies, and let the TV do the switching for you.
