nope. The only thing that is changing is analog over the air reception in the US. All of the analog TV channels are going digital. Most TV channels already have a digital channel counterpart (mainly on the UHF band) and on 2/17/09 the analog channel is shut down. The digital channel may move to the old analog spot or stay where they are. Low powered TV stations are not part of this shutdown as of yet.

satellite, cable, FTA nothing changes

the analog feeds that we see now and then will probably go away but since FTA is digital nothing to worry about :)

The converter boxes are for TV's that get their programming from OTA antenna or rabbit ears and don't have a new digital tuner in them. 2 of my TV's fall into this category. One is hooked up with a Dish 811 box that gets digital OTA and the other one is FTA only :)

My HDTV has a built in tuner

nothing to worry about. And the OTA shutoff doesnt affect Canadian TV stations :)

The worst thing that will happen is the old TV DXing and getting fuzzy OTA channels from far away is pretty much gone
