I got a 522 that i would like to activate, but i have not received the new smart card for it because it has been inactive. Will they activate it or will i have to wait for a new card to come in first?

They should have activated it and sent you the smartcard, no you will not get any channels until the new smartcards arrives and you activate it
to track your smartcard call dish and ask them for a tracking number or if the number isnt available ask them the status they can check that even without the tracking number and give you an estimated DOD(day of delivery).

Symbol you have a lot of faith in DISH my personal experience was they had no idea where my cards were.
