I need to subscribe to Dish Network rightaway with college football just around the corner. Right now I am still using my standard television (not HDTV) but might upgrade in 5-6 months to a HDTV.

Dish's promotions indicate they offer tons of free equipment. I am only interested in wiring up one-room for satellite TV. What equipment would you suggest I request from DISH? Should I request a HD-receiver, so I don't have to buy another later on? Or should I assume that in a few months, most TVs will have the tuner built in for nominal cost?

Btw, is there anyway to get a HD receiver from DISH without having to pay a monthly fee until I begin subscribing for HD programming?

Thanks for your thoughts
