For those of us who don´t watch Al Jazeera English anymore or not as often.

I remember watching AJE last week and there was mention of some of their staff being detained in Egypt, but only that.

Anyone interested in reading the note from Israel´s new tv channel Israel 24 news, (still not available in the Americas) below the link.

I hope this I24 news channel will be available soon on FTA on this side of the planet.

Edition to add info:

Nile tv International now available on Galaxy 19 @97w reporting that Al Jazeera Mubasher banned with 3 channels

A Cairo court ordered on Tuesday Al-Jazeera Mubasher Misr be taken off air.

To clarify, the article says that three members of an Al Jazerra TV crew were deported, purportedly for working without required permitting or licensing. Note that the article doesn't say that they were reporters or news producers. I hadn't heard this reported elsewhere, and doubt that it is interfering with Al Jazerra's coverage of Egyptian politics. I expect that Al Jazerra has at least hundreds of staffers working in Egypt.

That article further states that something it refers to as "Al-Jazerra's network's local Arabic Channel" was ordered shut down. Does anyone know the scope of that, like whether the shutdown was implemented and through what broadcast mediums it was being made available in that country?

English language TV crew

Last week interim goverment called Qatari network's local Arabic channel a threat to national security

Egyptian authorities say they have deported three members of a TV crew working for the English-language version of Qatar-based news broadcaster Al-Jazeera, after they were detained for nearly a week and accused of working illegally.

An official at the airport says Al-Jazeera English correspondent Wayne Hay, cameraman Adil Bradlow and producer Russ Finn left Cairo for London on Sunday. The three were detained Tuesday with an Egyptian colleague while covering events in Egypt.

The official says they were deported for working in Egypt without a permit or license to use satellite transmitters. He spoke on condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to the press.

Last week, Egypt's interim government called Al-Jazeera's local Arabic language channel a threat to national security and ordered it closed.
