Another DISH Football Fight

There is no line item for local RSNs. And the at120 to at120+ includes sports alternate channels. You know what's available in your area, from dish, if you choose to accept the package, cool, otherwise, sub to at120 if you feel ripped off. Don't want to miss the channels in 250, then is it worth to pay $79.99. If not, don't sub. If it is a value to you, then smile. But either way you look at it, knowing what is advertised in your local area, you are not "due" a credit. Nor is it any sort of false advertising

and people wonder why dish is losing so many customers...

Jaun is the Dead Horse, here...and it's OK to keep beating him till he shuts up. :deadhorse

Ok. Here's your proof. The difference between AT120 and AT120+ is $5 per month and the only difference between those two packages is RSNs. This means that Dish is charging about $5 per month for RSNs tacked on to AT120+ and up. Customers in states without RSNs aren't getting a $5 credit every month. In fact, they aren't getting a credit of any amount. Packages cost the same there as everywhere else. That means that dish is charging them for RSNs just like those of us with 2 or 3 RSNs but they aren't providing them.
I just compared a bill to another posters bill( see later posts) yer right....That is BS.

Baloney....That's the same as when Cablevision of New Jersey was sending out a monthly guide called "Atlantic Cable Monthly"....The company claimed it was "free" to all subscribers. Turned out that all Cablevision subs were being charged $3 per month for the publication. The charge was not itemized on the bill. Cablevision "hid" the charge in the "basic cable" portion of the bill. Cablevision was forced to stop the magazine to anyone who did not want to receive it and adjust their bill accordingly.
Dish is playing games here. They are claiming the RSN's are "part of" 120+ and up. No, they are not. Dish is charged and then passes that charge along to the subscriber. Because the subs in the NY Metro area do not receive any RSN's, that "part of" their bill no longer exists. Accordingly, Dish is charging their 120+ and up subscribers for services not delivered.

Did cable vision give you the oppurtunity to opt out if that prior to being forced? Dish gives you the oppurtunity to sub to at120. No extra sports channels included. Knowing you live in that area, and dish does not carry RSNs in that area, if you sub to a package that theoretically includes RSNs, then that is your prerogative. You are not due anything though. They give you the choice to downgrade. If the alternate sports channels(which is included no matter where you live) is in 120+ and so are other non sports related programming. So again, if you don't want to be in a package that has RSNs then 120 and below. Otherwise, pay the bill, and be happy. Or find another provider who offers what you are willing to pay for. Basic capitalism. You have options, so do they.

If someone lives in an area without RSNs, simple solution: Drop 120+ to 120 and lose nothing !

Seems to me that Dish should have made the deal to provide the network to subscribers in Big 10 states for a flat amount vs a per-subscriber charge. That way, if the Big 10 grows, Dish gets to provide the network to more households for the same cost (ends up lowering the per-subscriber amount too).

They likely did and typical Fox is trying to change the rules after halftime.
