antenna questions.

here is my info from antenna web:

now, im not really concerned about A and B, but i want the rest.
I tried this antenna from RS, and noticed no difference from no antenna at all. I mean zero difference whether hooked up, or disconnected. (looked at the signal strength on the HDTV receiver)

my question is, would i be better off with a directional, or omni?
seeing as C is a bit out of line.
i was hoping to try either of these:

are those worth a shot, or should i try something different?
i really wanted to try to buy something local to return it, incase it turns out to be crap.

eh, went down and bought a winegard 7005 at lunch.
we will see how it works.

ok, so the 7005 os the greatest antenna ever. well, at least that i have tried.
i immediatley got 44 with 80%, i added an amp, and it is at 90%
the rest of the channels flutter between 90 and 100%.

Actually, the Square Shooter has a flaw that would have been perfect for you.

Note that the VHF pattern is skewed to the left. This would place the channel 9 pattern in the proper direction
of 180 degrees while the UHF signals were peaked at 227.
