I'm planning to set my dish to SatMex5 tomorrow at 12080H for the chinese channels. I heard both ETTV news and drama channels are gone now although they are still there on lyngsax web site. Could anyone help me to confirm it?
Thanks
Bin

They are scrambled! Just Checked.............sorry : (
You can also add ET Global, scrambled!
All the lists have them as FTA at this moment
You just cant beat asking a real live person here at SatelliteGuys.US FTA area ;)

Maybe you should aim at G3C 95W 4 CCTV channels there....

Thank you so much for your quick response (as always), Peter. I have two dishes without moter. One is aiming at G3C for the CCTV4 for my in-laws. I'm thinking about aiming the other one at G13/H1 now for the chinese stations at 11720H. Could you check if those channels are still there if it's not too much trouble? My elevation is 16 degree for G13. I tried many times already and failed. Hopfully I will be lucky enough to get it tomorrow. BTW, my dishes are 76 cm.
This is a really good web site. I learned a lot here. Thanks again, guys!!

All still good at G13/H1, just checked!

Good luck tomorrow, all you can do is try to get the dish as high as you can as your elevation is so low!

Thanks, Peter. This will be my last try. If I can't aim it to G13, I'll move it to IA5. I kick myself for not doing research before asking someone install the system for me. If I can do it all over again, I would ask for one with motor.

I just got the channels from Galaxy 13 yesterday. It has more Chinese channels than lyngsat web page says. Total about 14. But Hu Nan TV is scrambled while all the other local province channels (such as Fu Jian) are available.
Anyone has any idea why these Chinese channels are on this Sat free to everyone? When did they start and is there any plan to scramble these channels? Hu Nan TV scrambed is not a good sign and I am worried other channels may follow the suite.

Here is the list of LyngSat listing, don't know if you have time to update it a little bit, I'm thinking about setup a FTA antenna and Pansat receiver, but just want to make sure that these channels are still available. Appreciate your help.

PiTV
CCTV 4
PiTV promo
IFTV
Sky Link TV
Pacvia TV
Hunan TV (scrambled)
Guangdong Satellite TV
Fujian TV Station
Liaoning TV
Chongqing TV

Here is the newer list from

So I need at least 30" dish to get 127W Galaxy 13 satellite, right?

Hello welcome to SatelliteGuys.US!

Yes you need at least a 30" Dish and KU LNBF for these channels.

Fujian and Guang Dong TV started to be srambled yesterday.
So as of today, Hunan Fujian GuangDong are scrambled and the remaining ones on lyngsat web page are still available. There are a couple of more channels which are not listed on lyngsat but I have no idea what these are.
Still a lot of good programs there but I don't know how long they are going to last.

Is Guangdong satellite TV (12080H) still available on SatMex5? Somebody said all Chinese channels on G13/H1 would be scrambled starting Feb. 15. How many Chinese channels are still free at 11720H on G13/H1? Lyngsat says there're three: sky link, IF TV and Pacvia.

Still getting.......

TZUCHI
MACTV
HWAZAN
GDTV

On SatMex 5 (12080H)
...................................
SKL1
PAC1
PTT

On G13/H1 (11720H)

(IFTV is there but its just a black screen now)

Peter, Thank you so much for your quick reply. Have you noticed that some C-band channels are moved from G10 to G3C? Too bad I have only a Ku-band system. Hopfully they will move some Ku-band channels over soon since I park one of my dish at G3C to get CCTV4 for my in-laws.

I just had a look at the C band channels on G3C, I do not have C band dish yet, just KU and DBS for now. Some great FTA channels.

I hope the CCTV channels stay for a long time, its fabulous having this insight into the world. Your in-laws are lucky to have this resource : )

Thanks for pointing that out PSB, I had been waiting for those to come up on G3 for a while. I'll let you all know Monday what I get for sig strength on those channels on C band VS KU band (if Jim or tdti dont beat me too it ;) Currently those channels come in around 39-45 % on my 30" KU dish pointed at G10.

TZUCHI, MACTV, HWAZAN probably will be free forever since they are educatoin/religion stuff. Guess GDTV will be encrypted soon.
