Are these emails legit???

Today I received an email allegedly from Scott that I believe is bogus. I received one other like this about a month ago. I seem to recall someone somewhere mentioning the same thing.

No, not at all. The one last month was a link to some weight reducing site. Strange how who ever it is got my personal email address and is using your name though.......

Often these emails come from malware that breaks into address books and sends emails "from" one person to another.

And Scott you do sort of resemble my Aunt Sarah but I don't want to think about that too much.
