AT&T is informing the company's U-Verse broadband customers that they can expect a flurry of new rate hikes starting in the new year. The notification directs customers to the company's website, which informs customers that because "your U-verse experience has improved," they can expect an increase to TV services, hardware rental charges, and the usual assortment of below the line fees starting January 28, 2016.

Nearly all of the company's television packages will see $2 to $4 rate hikes, and many of the company's voice customers will see $2 increases.

But AT&T's also bumping the company's assortment of fees, some more than others. AT&T's "Regulatory Video Cost Recovery Charge" (which is not government mandated) will increase by $0.01 per month.

The company's "Broadcast TV Surcharge" will also increase by $1 per month. As we'venoted previously, this is a new fee cable operators are using to bury the cost of doing business (programming) below the line, in order to misleadingly offer a lower advertised rate.

As is usually the case, customers on promotions will remain at their existing rate until the promotion expires. Again, interested users can check out the full list of expected AT&T U-Verse rate hikes here.
