45 mile per hour winds expected here by Sunday. (Florida)
Question do I need to take my 10' mesh dish down for 45 mile
per hour winds??????
My better judgement says YES.
OR point it straight up and take my chances.
Installing another dish for me is a nightmare plus about
a $1500 expense.

If installed properly, you should be able to watch TV in 45 mph wind. If it is VERY high in the air, like over the peak of your house, I would run it to your TS satellite so it provides the smallest target to the wind. If on the ground, I'd just watch TV and don't worry about it.

My Birdview solid (8.5 feet) has withstood fifty MPH without damage.

I think you have to assume gusts adding speed to the wind. Might be over 45.

I would point it up and otherwise tie it down with good strong rope. Better than having it fly off of there and hurt someone. But mark it so you can easily get it back to where it goes.

Thank you much for your expert advice.
Think it is veering to the north a little and maybe I'll get lucky.
Taking it down would be a royal pain. Took pictures of the wires
today just in case. All came out pretty good except the one
on the actuator. i have more trouble with picture taking.
The Canon Powershot camera is to complicated for me.
Have to spend a week reading the manuals then 6 months will
pass before I need it again and I will forget everything and
have to start over. I'm sure none of you guys have that
problem. LOL

In reality, how much it will move around depends entirely on how it was installed!! Since you're in Fla where the soil is pretty sandy, I sure hope you got the post planted in a good sized hole with a bunch of concrete around it!! ;)

Hi Lone Gunman,
Since I strongly believe in overkill my post isn't going anywhere.
1 cu yd of concrete. The post would break before the concrete moved LOL
