A 10' mesh is likely to be too heavy and bulky for one person to handle it. As mentioned, you need to remove it from the Polar mount. 3 people would be recommended for this. Be careful not to dent the mesh or warp the frame.

After removing it from the Polar Mount, it should be disassembled to place it on the truck.

Be sure to secure the Polar Mount on the truck so it cannot bang into the dish and create dents.

I single handedly dismantled a 10' 3meter dish allby myself and did all the installation all by myself
putting it on a 8' pole

Thanks for all the information. When spring comes I think I'll knock on a couple of doors and see about transplanting a big dish into my yard. Also, which is better - a mesh dish or a solid dish? I would like to use it for C and KU both.

Is is safe to say solid is better? :p as long as its not an pre-1980s old fiberglass (interior mesh had big hole or other flawed design not allowing for ku reception) dish. And if you get a mesh dish, get it if it has holes no bigger than the tip of a pencil lead. Also at least 8 feet, preferably 12 or 10 feet. Try to see if you can get a good enough section of ribbon cabling with it so you can play with it while you wait to order some more.

It's actually hard to answer. Some fiberglass dishes do OK and some don't. Most of them were made in the 80's and there were many manufacturers, some did good and some didn't, so somery, you are correct in what you say, but it doesn't apply to all the fiberglass dishes. I have one I purchased in 79 for C-band, ku was not a factor. It holds it's own pretty good for ku, even though it was designed for C-band. I have seen a higher quality signal on a 30" ku dish (compared to my 10' fiberglass), but I've also seen that 30" ku dish lose the signal, while the 10' fiberglass still has a solid signal. So, like I said, it's hard to answer?
