Ive never used mine on cband before, just ku, but it works really well.

some things to note though.

you tell the birdog what sat you want, then you will get signal on any sat, but it will only goto 'found' when you on the right sat. so the meter tells you when your on the right sat, not what sat your on.

also the birdog like almost all digital meters under $4000, only work on dvb, if the sat is strictly dcII or analog, the birdog wont be able to identify it, there must be dvb on the sat.

ie I can identify anik F2 but not anik F1

If you are a professional installer, I would highly recommend a BIRDOG or SatHawk 4000 meter. Either one will do the job fast. If you do more than 3 installs a week, it should be a must.

I have personally used both and like them both. The SH400 will work with DISHPro Plus LNBFs while the BIRDOG will not. If you do a lot of the Dish1000,Dish500+,or Dish1000+ I would recommend the SH4000
