Burger King "Man" ad

I saw this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NlmUa5Ct6is ad only once this past weekend and thought it was really funny. I've watched several NFL games this past weekend and numerous Burger King ads, but never saw that particular ad again.

Has anyone else seen it more than one or two times or did BK get complaints and yank it?

Yes, pretty funny, I had seen it over 100 times and I think it was last season's campaign; so likely why it is in less rotation or gone now.

Must be a regional marketing thing or something, as Saturday was the first time I'd ever seen it. Got a good chuckle out of it though.

Yea I saw that last year when I was living up in michigan and then saw it later in the year in georgia. It never played much, probably ticked off some womens sensitivity group or something or some metrosexual mens group and they complained.

Too bad too. I thought it was pretty funny. Loved the harnessed guy pulling the truck after that burger. That was a good laugh.

OK, the ad in question is called "Manthem" and here are some details from last summer about it after it was recognized.

I also was able to find out that it was NOT EVER shelved by any pressure, complaint or anything else negative, but rather the direction of not wanting to it fall into the trap of being over played, thus becoming annoying.

It has resurfaced in some markets (DFW TX area only?) over the last month for promo targets; the "Texas Double Whopper" promo going on AGAIN right now; so this ad was unshelved from their archive because it fits the promo and was never over played; and it only gets minor edits to become "new again" instead of the costs of shooting something 100% new.

Mystery solved.

I had never seen it here in the NW until two Saturday's ago. I didn't recall ever seeing it before and only saw it once. Thanks for the info though, Charper1!
