Hello
I have two small fixed dishes (not motorized)
for getting some Ku band channels.
I am using a 4X1 diseqc switch to connect those Ku band lnbs
to my viewsat VSMAXHD.
I am adding a bigger dish for some C band channels.
The question I have is regarding switches.
Can I use the same diseqc I already have for connecting the
new C band system?
In other words, Can I connect the C band lnb to the existing
switch that I already have for the two Ku band lnbs??
I am pretty much sure that this is a basic question.
Sorry I could not find that info in the forums.
Any link/answer would be really appreciated

yes you can, once there is a port for it. . .i also have 2 ku dishes and a bud with a c/ku lnb on there and i use all the ports on my 4x1 switch, just remember which lnb is connected to which port.

additional consideration:

Curious what feedhorn / LNB setup you have on the C-band dish.
If it's a co-rotor style, you'll need some way to select between Vertical and Horizontal.
However if it has (or you install) a modern voltage-controlled LNBF on your BUD, then it'll work right through the diseqc switch seamlessly. ;)

im not sure if the question was directed at me, but i will answer. . . :)

i have a chaparrel wideband feed with servo. . .i control the servo via one of two of my pansat receivers or my 4d

and thats seamless imho.

I wanna thank greenguy for providing that
helpful answer.

Anole:
This info is on the brand-new LNB I bought:
Input freq 3.4-4.2 GHz
Output freq 950-1750 MHz
LO Freq 5150 MHz
Gain 70db
Noise Figure 13K

Not sure, I guess it is a modern voltage-controlled LNBF.
Am I wrong?

Thank you

can you take a pic of the lnb or maybe post a link to one like it?

i dont know if the guys will be able to tell what you hav by the info you posted. . .i know its a c band lnb and thats it.

Greenguy
Sorry for the delay.
I am attaching the picture of my lnb
thanks again

I just read the label.
It says, WSI DMX241.
If you'd mentioned that, we'd recognized it right off! ;)

Sounds like you're all set. - :up
Just hook up your C-band LNBF like any Ku device.
See this thread for help, but feel free to ask for clarification if ya like.
