Can I get 4 satellites on two dishes?

I currently have a Dish 1000 (pointed at 110/119) and a Dish 500 (pointed at 61.5). I live in the Cleveland Area and don't get STO-HD or FSN-Ohio HD because they are on 129. Can I have the Dish 1000 try to pick up 129 as well? If so, will it override 61.5. I hate to reposition 61.5 at 129 considering all the problems I hear about. Are the issues with 129 still present? I only miss these HDs for the occassional ballgame. Will it be worth any of this??

Thanks.

if you have both 129 & 61.5 hooked up, the system will always default to 129 unless the channel is only on 61.5

Only way around it is to unhook 129 and redo a check switch everytime.

Iceberg is right but if the channel or channels are only on 129 then you'll need 129. :)
The D1000 can see 3 satellites (119, 110, 129).

I assume that the installer ran a cable from 61.5 to the DP Twin on the 1000 and didn't connect 129. If that's the case you need a DPP44 switch to tie all 4 satellite locations.

You could always swing the dish back to 61.5 if 129 gives you problems. I don't know if there are issues with 129 in your area. Most of the problems I've heard are on the West coast.

great advice everyone. A friend of mine in the area has had problems when attempting to get 129. Since Iceberg pointed out that 129 would be the default, then it would seem pointless to try to get 61.5 and 129. I'll probably just hold out and hope the problems with 129 are fixed. I just hope it is before Cleveland HD LiLs come.... (still waiting....) :(

I currently receive 4 signals (110,118,119,129) on the Dish 1000. However, we discovered that the VOOM channels were not always good and so put up a second dish. Apparently you can receive all 4 signals but it may affect your VOOM channels. At least it did from my location. (Southern California) This change in equipment came about when I opted for the new trial of Le Monde TV5 from France as well as Setanta from Ireland.
