Hello, I am Bill, I want to ask one question, hope you can help me...
I have a Direct TV dish left on my roof and there's some thing on it, I think that's receiver on the dish frame, which point to the dish...and I just wonder can I use it to receive FTA satellite TV?
Hope you can help me out...
Sincerely.
Bill
PS. I don't have the box.

Most all DirecTV dishes are unsuitable for real FTA use.
Does yours look like any of these?
The last two on the right might be useful, but not prime choices.

There are also left-over or discarded Dish Network SuperDishes which fall into the same category.
Not prime, but useful as auxiliary dishes or for a beginner.

We normally recommend a proper 36" dish (90cm) to get started,
along with a matching Standard or Universal linear LNB (not circular LNB).

In many parts of the country, there are left-over Primestar dishes, and a good number of those will get you going.
Let us know what you find, and we can help you out.
