Can someone help me plz about the blu-ray player?

Hi guys..
Was wondering if u guys can help me in this issue..I bought the SONY S550 blu-ray player but badly need to firewire update for sure..I don't have router at this time, just up floor I have my desktop connected it to yahoo basic DSL modem..Now I discount the Ethernet from my pc goes to modem and wanna connect it to the player. But back of the player says USB & LAN connection..So I don't know how I can do. I don't have anything beside that behind my DSL modem. Can u help me a bit?

You could DL the firmware update from the sony site and then burn a copy using an ISO burning tool.
Or you could disconnect the Ethernet connection from the computer and connect it to the LAN input of the BD player.

And if for some reason you are unable to burn the disk, your third option is to register at Sony's website (http://www.productregistration.sony.com/) and Sony will mail the firmware update disk to you.

I just done & did,what Kevin said on top eriler in this page,I connceted my modem to LAN of the player, well work & updated! took few minutes & Was much quicker way to me i guess
