I was checking out dishpointer.com, and the last satellite listed is NSS 5 at 177°W. It lists the elevation at like 17°, which for me is very close to the horizon. Have you guys had any luck picking up anything beyond that? Lyngsat doesn't even list NSS 5 under "America," so it looks like a long shot.

There are other satellites past 177°W that we can see, but the signal beams are not pointing towards us so we can not pick up the satellite signals. They are pointing towards: Australia, Japan and other countries on that side of the world.

140 East has C and Ku-band signals that boom into parts of western Alaska...but very low elevation angles.

A number of satellites starting at 128 West have spot beams targeting Hawaii.

166 and 169 East also have some (very few) C-band channels that will work on a narrow strip of real estate from San Diego up to Seattle;
but extremely low elevation angles also.

Look at the SATELLITE POINTING ANGLES section of the GLOBAL website,
found under www.global-cm.net for an idea about what is possible from
some west coast locations.

Merry Christmas!
