Can't get Dishnetwork 301 box to work with MCE 2005

I can't get the Dishnetwork 301 STB to recognize the IR signals for the IR bud. I've heard that the IR blaster with the 301 could be a problem but I've seen posts where people have been able to get this to work. Any ideas?
