I want to see Casino Royale, but I'm not too keen on going to theaters anymore. Any ideas when it might be on Dish PPV/VOD or at Blockbuster type stores?

I agree with you about the theaters. I haven't been to a theater since we bought our projector. I hope it will be out within a couple months, but I don't know.

You definelty need to see it, it is good.

An Ever-Shorter Leap From Theater to DVD

"I'll wait for the DVD."

It's the discriminating moviegoer's mantra, one repeated every time we can't muster the motivation to catch the latest Hollywood offering in theaters. But in many cases that waiting game has changed, as movies make the leap from silver screen to small screen faster than ever before.

These days the turnaround time from cineplex to DVD is 4 1/2 months, on average, with movies becoming available for rental and sale on the same day. A few recent films made the trip in fewer than 90 days. (Five years ago, the typical Hollywood flick didn't show up on home video for at least six months.) It's no secret that movie studios, which generally earn more money from home video than box office returns, are eager to capitalize on DVD dollars as soon as they can. Box office disappointments often turn around even faster.

i agree about 4.5 months sounds about right i remember back in the day when it was like a year or more !!

i think ill wait to heard its a good bond so lookin forward to it a lot !!

cheers paul

The new one isn't anything like the original.

That's what I'm counting on. See both, enjoy both, even if I miss the "real Bond."

:haha :haha :haha Missed that. Sure would put a different spin on the role!

Depends on how well it does at the theaters, Im hearing mixed reviews on it about how this new bond is a sado masochist who enjoys killing people and is more evil than good.

If it does horrible and leaves the theaters a month after release then expect it to go to dvd within 2 more months, if it does great and sticks around for 2 months then atleast 4 months, and if its incredible and is around for 3 months plus then next xmas holiday type of deal.

Well, I just watched the Casino Royale from 1967 with David Niven. Spoof. Very hard to sit thru.

I understand the new Casino Royale has nothing to do with the old one. Good.
