I just compared a Cband DMX741 and 242 with a 241 lnb and made a couple of observations which I'd like to better understand. On the inside of the lnbs, there are 3 rods, 1 thicker one that goes all the way accross, and two smaller ones which protude into the lumen. The thicker one and one of the thinner ones are the same plane whereas one thinner one is 90degrees.

On the 241, the thicker rod points to the "O" setting marked on the lnb and would appear to be oriented vertically.

On the 242 and 741, the thicker rod is oriented 90degress from the "O" and would appear to be oriented horizontally.

Could someone explain the apparent 90 degree differences?

Actually there are 4 probes in the 741U. 2 for C band and 2 for the KU. The C-band is in the larger mouth area and the KU probes are in the area near the back in the smaller feed area. The reason they are at 90 degrees is for Horz, & the other is for Vertical polarity.

I recognize the Ku probes are in back, I am interested in the position of the Cband probes which are "rotated" 90 degrees if you use the "0" marking on lnb.
Does it matter than the "O" mark is 90 rotated comparing the 241 and 741?
