They've moved 90% of their primetime programming to HD, latest news says that news shows like 60 Minutes will be in HD, they have the most HD sports events on, forget HDNet and ESPN I think CBS is dominating in this market. Too boot, during their NFL PreGame show an ad came on had one of their reporters (I forget his name) sitting in front of a huge Sony HDTV and a nice HT, I think in the ad he pretty much says "CBS Sports will present some of today's games in stunning jawdropping sharp high definition widescreen TV and in pure surround sound...so sit back and enjoy the game"

Major nod to HD, that's the kind of message the J6Ps need to receive.

Only three shows on CBS that I really look forward to seeing ( Without A Trace, Joan of Arcadia, Cold Case ), but they are three of my favorites. They do a good job with football, too. But I probably like more prime time shows on NBC personally. And CBS doesn't have a single new show that I'm really looking forward to ( athough I probably will check out what they offer ).

Cold Case, CSI Miami, CSI New York, Without A Trace, King of Queens, and Everybody Loves Raymond are all shows I watch or want to watch. Plus Football, Golf in HD, and Tennis in HD? Damn they are really kicking butt in the HD world I think.

OK, I'm kinda of pissed with CBS. As no OTA HD broadcast for the NFL games in the Washington D.C. Metro area this year. Not sure what the problem is but have noticed this for the second week. Anyone has a clue as to the issue?

C-BS, great for HD, BAAAAAD for NEWS

Yeah, I agree that CBS Network is great with HD content...

Yes Dear
Still Standing
Everyone Loves Raymond
Two and Half Men
CSI-Miami
CSI-NY
CSI-Las Vegas
NCIS
Without a Trace
Joan of Arcadia
JAG
-- SPORTS in HD --

Someone said 60 minutes.. ARE YOU JOKING?! CBS news is the laughing stock of the world. Dan Rather is supposed to be a JOURNALIST, remember? John Kerry should just give him a title and god forbide he should steal the election, I'm sure John Kerry would be happy to setup his own private office in the white house.

Well according to a link I picked up on AVSForum (if I find it again I'll post it here, watching NFL right now), CBS is looking to move their non-hard news shows to HD. Hard news I guess means breaking national and world news, where shows like 60 Minutes are article pieces.

If all you get is CBS HD at least you get a pretty good dose of HD.

Agree.....CBS is the leader in sports HD. The only one to have college football in HD. ESPN does but I'm talking Free stuff.

What are you talking about? The Washington, DC, CBS affiliate broadcast the Ravens game earlier, and is broadcasting the Cowboys game now, both in HDTV.

I don't know but I think Fox is giving CBS a run for the money, maybe not in the number of hours produced but % of programming they carry. Both networks are doing their non-reality based programs in HD this year. And starting with last weekend's NFL kickoff it looks like most of their sports coverage will be in HD (post over on AVS that NASCAR and MLB will be HD next year). Plus Fox is showing their movies in HD now.

CBS is far ahead of the other major networks. Fox is really just getting into the HD game....they are not even close to CBS in HD content or programming in my opinion.

Fox did do "The Casino" and now that Boxing "The Next Champ"? reality show in HD. At least their widescreen treatment.

I just hope that Fox gets FX, Speed, and National Geographic in HD quickly.

Fox gave The Next Champ the ED treatment, the movie Speed was in SD tonight. I think FOX is gaining ground, and this year will probably look more impressive than ABC and ESPN when it comes to sports in HD.

Until I got cbs hd early last year I rarely watched, but now I watch mostly cbs network hd stuff ie... still standing, 2 and a half men, JAG and NcIs (was already watching csi, but csi Miami in hd and even Survivor in upconvert looks good...nfl however if Cowboys are on even in ppsd(terrible sd) on my local fox I will watch if not I watch the afc Hd games...Too bad nbc is a year late on Friends and Frasier in HD....

Ditto on the pissed part, The N.Y. Jets were also not in HD the last to weeks, and to put salt in the wound they had station there I.D. in HD.
The one that says CBS the best in HD not the one that says the leader in HD.
Could have FOX pased them up, Both FOX Giant games last, and this week were in HD in the N.Y. area.
I want my JETS HD TV.

MY LOCAL CBS IS KILLING ME. Yesterday of course CBS didn't flip the switch or whatever, because i ended watching the game in supposed 1080i, but it wasn't 1080i or true 1080i. It looked like 480i to me, last week the game on CBS was really in true 1080i but not this week. "WEIRD!" Fox piped their game threw in 720p Which looked GREAT! Last week fox showed me my game is 1080i this week they switched to 720p which looked just as good if not better than their 1080i. Well anyways i think FOX is going to be the new local high def king especially if CBS keeps this up. GO FOX!
