Greetings,

I am located in the Minneapolis, Mn area.
I have a 1000.4 antenna mounted to the roof but had a problem accessing the Eastern Arc satellites. (722K receiver)

I read that Mpls locals are now available on the Western arc. I know I can tune the Western Arc satellites without problem as I used to tune them on my old Dish 500 antenna for my 4900 receiver.

Can I just buy the 1000.4 Western Arc LNBF and fit them on the 1000.4 mast?
Are the reflector and the feed arm compatible?
I found the new LNBF for the Western Arc at Solid Signal
(DISH Network 1000.4 West Arc LNBF for Satellites 110° 119° and 129° - DISH Network - ES175338 -

I'm able to see the 110 satellite with my old Dish 500 antenna but am getting a weak signal on 119.

The Eastern Arc satellites are blocked by tall trees on neighbors property.

I would like to get the hd service for the 722K thus the new antenna.

Is the easiest way of going all about this just upgrading the LNBF on the 1000.4 to the Western Arc, repointing and being all done?

Thank you!

Minneapolis HD locals are on both arcs. I see both dishes here near Mistake Lake Casino ;)

But if you have weak signals on 119 are you sure you can see 110/119/129? That si what Western Arc is

But to answer the question, if you have EA and buy that LNB you can use it for WA

The 1k4 western arc lnb is interchangeable with the 1k4 dish. All that is needed is the 1k4 wa lnb & adjustments on the dish itself for the wa settings.

Minneapolis locals are on both arcs, so if you have NLOS (no line of sight) to EA, WA would work fine. The only thing I can think of is the WA and EA LNB's may use different arms (you wouldn't believe how little info we have on them, but I'm sure someone will come on and confirm), otherwise you should be able to put up the WA LNB, repoint, and be up and running (after check switch test).

1k4 wa lnb.jpg1k4 ea lnb.jpg

They both fit the 1k4, the latter sees 61.5, 72.7, & 77. The first picture should not be confused with the 1k2 lnb, both look similar other than the fact it states on lnb "1000.4 wa" The other sees 110, 119 & 129. Azimuth, elevation & dish settings vary from region to region. It is imperative to know what birds you can see from your location & if locals are available on ea, wa, or both.

If you are having trouble w/ signal on 119 then you WON'T see 129 as it is much lower on the horizon. Get your dish peaked on EA.
