Cigarette plug for cradle

Just got Sirius the other day and was wondering if it is really necessary to unplug the dock when you turn the car off. The manual strongly suggests that you do. Anyone ever have a problem?

They say that because some cigarette lighters (12v outlets) stay "hot"once the ignition is off. In that case, it could drain the battery.

Thanks for the reply but would it really matter if you leave the tuner in and turn it off?
