Cinemax For a Penny

Pay on line

You don't have to start sending in a check you can just pay your bill on line. I've got the max for a penny & that's what I do. Got luck and was able to get the deal w/o actual autopay. It was due to talking to right CEO people and explaining about due date was before pay day. So I will probably just cancel Max. For the guy that doesn't like Showtime, each to his own. Dexter, Californication, Weeds, & the Tudors are great series.

I find several movies each month that I enjoy, sometimes more, so I'll be keeping Cinemax after the promo ends. I don't know that it's worth full price, but I dang well know that Showtime isn't worth full price. I don't think I've watched a movie on Showtime/TMC/Flix in over 3 months! Their movie catalog is just hideous!

Skinamax (Cinemax) isn't worth the cost of the lowest netflix subscription, unless all you want to watch is their B Class Soft Porn.
A tleast Showtime gives you original series with actors and actresses you actually have heard of before.

I have to agree with the folks here ... remove your paperless to "get back at Dish"?

Hmmm ... how much is Cinemax per month? Lets say $12. Over a year that is $144. Dish gave that to your for $0.01 for the whole year.

For me paperless and autopay works ... the fact that I got Cinemax was the icing on the cake ...

The fact that they are dropping Cinemax ... may actually send me back to Redbox/NetFlix/Blockbuster ... who knows ... I may need to review the what's in the silver package too.

The skinamax you talk about is about 2 hours or so of programming on one of their channels. Their movie library, like DNC says, is better than any of the other channels. You get the new ones that HBO has, plus the old movies from the 70s and before if you've got a DVR to record them early in the morning. Unlike Showtime, they have MOVIES with actors and actresses you've heard of before.

Exactly, Cat. It's the MOVIES I'm enjoying on Cinemax.

You don't need that either.

Thanks. So what is the requirement for DVR Advantage? I only found out about it when the CSR signed me up for the Cinemax Penny deal and he implied I only qualified for it (DVR Advantage) because I was going to be on the AutoPay/Paperless billing anyways.

And I can't find anything about the requirements on the website:

DISH Network - Ways To Save - 1.888.825.2557

DVR Advantage is a package, it is available in the format of any of the Classic Programming packages. Not available with Turbo Packages, HD Absolute or any package lower than Classic Bronze.

I prefer getting a paper bill because sometimes I have issues, just like I am currently having, with Dish Network screwing up my bill. They overcharge or have weird things on the statement. If you do autopay you forget to check it and that is what Dish Network is counting on. I am not saying it would happen to everybody but when you have to ask for credits to make up for screw ups that they done then you have to make sure they are applying the credits correctly. Sometimes they want to only give you credits over a longer term instead of all at once.

If I am going to do paperless billing then I am going to have to get something for it for this reason alone. I have to go online and check my statement each month which is an inconvenience, especially when you have dialup or piss poor satellite broadband to deal with. I will keep autopay but I already had them charge my account an unauthorized charge and had to dispute the charge then give them my credit card info again to keep cinemax for a year for a penny deal. They told me that you get a small grace period to give them updated credit card information before the channel gets removed and thats what I was able to do. Anytime you dispute a charge they automatically take you off of autopay.

The initial requirement for DVR advantage is to either do a 2 year commit or sign up with credit card autopay with paperless billing. You can turn right around and remove those two and still have DVR advantage. In fact, anyone who doesn't have DVR advantage, should sign up for it with credit card autopay and paperless billing. While not worth as much as the Max Penny offer, it still saves about $72 a year and isn't slated for expiration.

Reviewed my bills. Mine will expire December 03. I actually have watched it a good bit. Got my 2 pennies worth. Definitely will not keep it. The Max channels are probably worth 4.99 a month.

Just got my October bill. Under the One Time Charges section is:

"Oct 26 1 YR Cinemax Penny Offer 0.01"

so does this mean the deal is still on?

Maybe it means that the charge was applied prior to Cinemax decided to end the promo...
