I'm not sure I buy ramping up the rental in advance of delivering the goods. The street price difference between the two standards is close to double as opposed to the claimed 167%.

The retail price is about the same as the DOCSIS 1.x modems cost when I first signed up.

I may finally have to break down and buy a modem.
