Hello,

Can I use a DirecTV dish (not the receiver obviously) to receive Dish Network network transmissions?

Thanks!

If you are a NEW customer DISH will give you free equipment and installation so you will have correct equipment and installation. Directv does the same for NEW customers. :)

re: using D* for E*
It isn't worth it. Now, while waiting for my Dish stuff, I used a DISH dish to pick up one side of DirecTV's 119 but to use the same dish, for their new stuff, no. For legacy, yes. The stacked LNB's are needed but one uses a D shape to connect to the dish arm, and the other is a rectangle. Now there are ways around this for $. If you don't need a superdish you can get a 500 with dual lnb's on ebay for under $50. But why not just get a free package from DISH. Your local dealer may not have it, but you can get this on the web easily at www.dishnetwork.com .
