Correct Skew Angles

I have been having trouble tuning 110W on my Dish 500 dual LNB.

Using Satellite Finders which multi LNB setting do I use to find the correct skew angles?

Do I use the Dish 500+ showing 110W, 118.7W and 119W

or do I just use the the listing for 110W and 119W?

I've had the best luck using the Dish500+ setting but sometimes it doesn't work.

I've been setting the skew on the dish on the back of my truck tailgate before putting it on the stand and this has helped. I've made sure that the mounting pole is verticall too.

If I get a strong signal from 119W should I move the dish further to the east to pick up 110W?

My wife's cooking channels are on 110W so it behooves me to find it when we're RVing.

Go to the point dish screen on your receiver (Menu-6-1-1), set the satellite to either 110 or 119 and enter the coeerct zip code in the far right column.

Dish system should be on 500.

The AZ, EL and skew will display just above the signal strength bar.

I would suggest:

(1) foil cover outer LNBs 110 and 129. Any skew will do, use 500 guess.
(2) peak 119 using the nominal elevation and azimuth for 300 or 500.
Make changes of less than 2 degrees. Confirm it is 119.
(3) remove foils and balance 110 and 129 by adjusting the skew.
Starting from the 500 value. Hand tighten each step until done.
(4) tweak elevation to balance 119 against 110+129 as step 2 favors 119 a little.
(5) try very small tweaks as in steps 3 and 4
All 3 signals should be well above 25, preferably well above 40, 119 may be less.
A remote TV that you can hear the tone works best--it is harder with a cell phone.

Are you actually using a dual or a twin lnb?

If you are using a dual you will only pick up one sat at a time. If this is the case, move the dish to the left and raise the elevation.

If you are using a twin, 110 should come in automatically if 119 is strong, the settings are correct, and there is a clear line of site to it
