is there a way to identify hardware that is installed in the computer without taking it apart?

i have a cpu that i just wiped clean for someone. i reinstalled windows 2000. the ethernet card needs a driver. the cpu is custom built so i am guessing the ethernet card came with a disk, but the person who owns the cpu does not have any of the stuff (someone else built it for her)

so in short does anyone know how to identify the ethernet card so i can find the driver on the net.

yes, it says it logged my ip address, but then went to the site. i got the driver no problem using that tool. it is a great tool if you need it.
