D* and db4 antenna

I have a 3lnb dish from D* I was using Winegard antenna and now purchased the DB4 . I have a problem with the DB4 as I am diplexing from dish and to STB. With the winegard there was no problem in getting decent reception, but with the DB4 using same line and splitting it causes the dish signal to lock up. Is there any way around this beside a dedicated OTA line?

Is the only thing you've change just the antenna? Which winegard did you have? Will all the splitters pass dc from the sat rx to the 3lnb? Are all TV stations you had UHF?
