I'm trying to understand something I've noticed that different transponders on the same satellite are often peaked by ~.5 degrees different positioning of the dish. Could someone explain how this occurs? Different location of transponder on satellite or different location of uplink wouldn't seem like they would make a difference of that much.

I did have another member tell me this happens on one particular satellite at his location, when I experienced it on mine. Wish I could remember what satellite it was, but true. Seems to me it was one with MUCH international language programming. And, I believe it was on the ku band.

Yep. Thanks! I recall that note. It was helpful in my 'sanity' when first learning about FTA and settings! Thanks for helping with my bad memory.

Thanks for the suggestions. I notice it the most on 99w. For example, the GDMX feeds seem to be peaked further west than other transponders. I don't recall it being related to H/V but others. I'll check to see if its an H/V issue but don't recall that being the case but I'll try to come back with specific transonder info and recheck the skew.

Coincidentally it was G16 that I noticed the problem most on as well. I'd have to move the dish about 10 counts to get KCWY to come in reliably but then I'd lose just about everything else on the satellite.

Thats almost exactly what I find as well. I'll have to find some time this weekend to do some tweaking. Hopefully its something as simple as the skew
