Direct Tv HDTV Programming

I am searching out new HDTV Receivers - and currently have Direct TV - I was looking at their HDTV Receiver - but noticed they don't have too much programming availalbe - does anyone know if they have plans to add more programming to their basic package? And do I need an additional dish to pick up HDTV? Thanks for the help. JackM

Directv is planning on adding more HD. The only question is when? They were targeting to begin to roll out the beginning of locals in HD for Sept. But they have had set backs. Now no one is sure when they will start. They have recently added ESPN2 HD to their lineup, and MAY be adding more soon. I know this is not too clear of a picture, but there is not much to grab hold of for further information out there right now. At least, not that I've heard as of yet.



Now, there were some fine deals on HD DVR's recently... Please check out other threads to see if those deals are still out there. Enjoy!
