I have Direct tv service with 2 regular receivers and 2 Direct tv tivo receivers. I am considering getting DSL service and then ATT callvantage VOIP. I have about 12 phones in the house not counting the 4 receivers which are connected to the phone line. I have several other jacks not connected to anything.
Will DSL/VIOP service cause a problem with directv. Thanks

I have Road Runner phone service. They told me that dial up modems would not work with the service.

Both Tivo's, H-20, H-10 and an SD box all call out with no problems.

Just my $.02.

I have callvantage and have never had any problems with any of my D* equipment.

The only problems I have ever had are with the TIVO's dialing out - I have switched over to the PPP over ethernet, so I don't need the phone line. My regular recievers work fine.

If you have DSL you still have the regular phone line. Put the DSL filter on the line going to you D* units and they will work fine. The only ones that might have trouble with VOIP are the broadband users that don't need a regular phone line.
