Ukrainian-language STUDIO 1+1 International is now available via DirecTV Inc.’s direct-broadcast satellite service.

The network, which costs $14.99 per month, will offer up-to-the-minute Ukrainian news, entertainment and political programming.

DirecTV said STUDIO 1+1 International is the first full-time Ukrainian channel to be broadcast in the United States.

My wife called DirecTV and subscribed to this channel being this is a channel she grew up with only to be disappointed.

First this is not the same 1+1 feed provided to residents in Ukraine but rather a seperate international channel made up of programming from the 1+1 library.

Second, 1+1 International (as it is being called) right now is broadcasting in test mode meaning they are broadcasting only 4 3-hour blocks each day and are showing a webcam of Independence Square in Kiev for the rest of the time..

D* should have investigated this first or at least offered it as a free channel in the Russian Direct Package until the channel was fully operational.

Im surprised Charlie E* passed on this one

He may not have been given the opportunity to add it.

If you recall the Russian Channels (Channel 1 and RTRP) use to be on Dish exclusively and were picked up by under a exclusive agreement with DirecTV. 1+1 may being distributed by the same company as the others and never had the option to consider it.
