I've had directv service for like the past 10 years and now want to FTA and also verizon fios tv service. So my question is if I'm able to get directv service (since it's pointing at 101 W) then I shouldn't have any issue with getting Telstar 5 since it's only at 97 W correct? The azimuth and elevation only differ by like 7 for azimuth and only 4 for elevation. I only need to do slight adjustment once I take the directv dish off. I'm getting a fortec star dish (31") and fortec classic n/a receiver. Feedback would be appreciated.

Its 4º away in Azimuth and 7º in elevation (I guess, depends where you are). (101-97=4º) Should have NO PROBLEMS!

Should I even consider globecast for fta or stick with fortec systems/receivers?

I would only go with Globecast if they carry a specific channel that you want and are prepared to pay for, otherwise the Fortec system will work great for all the legal FTA channels up there.
