DIRECTV will air the documentary, American Standoff, in 4K on May 4 at 8 p.m. ET., which is part of the satcaster's new lineup of programming in the picture format.
American Standoff focuses on The Hammonds, an Oregon ranching family who for two decades has battled government agencies over federal land rights. The dispute led to the 2012 conviction of family members for arson of federal rangeland, which eventually sparked area militia members in 2015 to take over a federal wildlife refuge
The documentary, which will be simulcast on The Audience Network on DIRECTV and AT&T's U-verse, will include never-before-seen footage of the standoff between the militia members and federal officials, and interviews with participants.
