I am trying to learn about dish networks 1000-2 . It has 3 Lnbs and coax lines to 3 seperate recievers. I am confused as to how this works. Does each LNB only see one satelite or do they bleed over on to each other so that each reciever sees all three satelites? If this is the case and I use a larger super dish with more precise focus will I have to use a device to combine all 3 satelites into one coax leading to each reciever?
Thanks,
Cal Adkinson

yes
the 1000.2 has a built in switch. if you use a superdish for anything, you would need an external switch.
the superdish does not have a more precise focus. it is designed to view 110, 119 and 121 (121 no longer in use for most people, and of no use to the average sub). you would still need another dish to pick up an hd sat, either 61.5 or 129. and you would still need the external switch.
the 1000.2 is shaped specifically to pick up 110, 119, and 129. the length of the arm, size of dish, etc. is designed for precise focus. each 'lens' is looking at one sat and the internal switch combines them for your receiver to 'see'.

however, the superdish CAN be fitted to face east and view 61.5, 72 and 77 as an hd setup with a 1000.4 lnb, which also has an internal switch. i have also seen them fitted with a 1000.2 lnb and working fine. this would require some modification of the arm, drilling holes, etc to get the lnb to fit securely on. and of course the skew, azimuth, and elevation would be different.

Thanks, it makes a lot more sense now. The diagrams showed each lnb and it appeared that each lnb only output one sat.
