You will need to get into the system checkswitch screen (MENU, 6, 1, 1) and from there it'll not only show what type of dish, but what orbitals you're receiving.
The 1000 dish gets 118.7, 110, 119, and 129.
The 1000.2 gets 110, 119, 129 and has an open input that can be used to pull in 61.5 as a wing dish. It can also feed 3 Dual Tuners (such as the 625 or 722) with only 1 coax going to the receiver and a Dish Separator.

A D1000 gets 119, 110 and 129
D1000.2 gets 119, 110 and 129
D1000+ gets 118.7 119, 110, and 129.
The difference is in the LNBs and the size of the dish. The 1000 has a Dpp Twin and a Dp Dual. You can feed up to two dual tuners with a single cable run with a D1000.
The D1000.2 has a triple LNB that can feed up to 3 dual tuners with a single cable run.
Was I correct that the 1000.2 can accept the feed from a wing dish for 61.5???
I almost put that I was not certain about the 1000 stuff, but didn't. Guess I should have.

Yes, you're correct. The 1000.2 also has a satellite input for a 4th location. Here's a link to the 3 different dishes:

oh okay thanks, Do you know if I will need to upgrade my dish 1000 if I wanted to recieve the local channels onto 61.5?
The 1000 was a short term answer to receive 129. Your best bet is to use the 1000 as a 61.5 dish. Set the skew at 90 and put the DP dual {or single} in the middle, link the DP to a newly purchased 1000.2 with the supplied triple. 4th port. You will see a stronger signal level on 110-119-129 using the 1000.2 AND be able to light up 6 tuners......Have fun
