dish 501 PVR

can I use my 501 with a new dish hdtv receiver I have a new hdtv. If so how would you hook it up ecostar will tell me nothing they want me to buy new equipment.

Welcome to SatelliteGuys... Yes you can hook it up with S-Video (Video)and Composite(RCA)(Audio) Cables into your TV

Your TV should have multiple inputs. Hook your HD receiver to one and the 501 to another. You can then switch between them by selecting the input on your TV. Make sure you have the HD and 501 remotes are set to different addresses. The 501 will need its own feed from the dish/switch.
