BTW, I should have added "DISH caves in to pissed off football fans".

No doubt lots of cancelled accounts and angry customers calling in.

Who does this #### right at the start of football season!!!!!!!!!

I'd bet dish was not prepared for the massive amount of anger pointed it's way for NFL and College football fans.

Not everyone was ticked off. I get Faux OTA and I prefer ESPN light years over FS1. Disney handled the FX, FXX and Nat Geo dispute way better. Take the generous extension Dish offers and keep the viewers out of the middle of the dispute.

I'm sure that FOX faced backlash from the NFL and WWE. Don't forget that FOX paid over a billion for one wrestling show and has the pressure on the WWE to deliver ratings. I'm sure the WWE was sitting there, like the NFL, wanting access to as many homes as possible.

FOX can't complain about ratings to either company, when its having a proverbial peeing contest with the number 2 satellite television provider. Then to add the demand to blackout Thursday Night Football on NFL Network.

Essentially there are arguments that either side caved. The truth is we will never know. In my opinion, Dish said "take your HBO and Cinemax, and shove it." They told Univision to shove it. They went as far as to create their own competitor to The Weather Channel, be it for one day, but I'm sure it was a message well received that they weren't playing around. They kept FX, National Geographic, and so on off Dish for a month. Remember the AMC debacle? What I'm saying is that Dish has a history of not giving a damn if channels are pulled. So, to blindly say that FOX won and Dish caved (without any evidence) is just fan fiction at this point.

If I was betting on this, Dish made some concessions and FOX made some concessions. Dish is paying more, but FOX isn't getting nearly what they originally demanded. It's called negotiations.

“DISH caved”! Too funny. If anyone caved it was probably Fox. DISH was perfectly happy with the current carriage agreement Fox was the one probably asking for an increase and pulled their channels. As far as we will never know, we probably will know, when the annual price increase hits.

Backlash from the WWE....thats a good one

FOX has pressure on them to deliver ratings, as FOX paid a billion plus for the broadcast rights for that show. For FOX to then pull the channel from one of the biggest nationwide providers in New York, Los Angeles, and Chicago (the top three markets) during the the time when the show premiered, I'm suspect that WWE did have some choice statements for them.
