Dish Covers

I'm wanting to get some opinions on dish covers. Yesterday was the first time ever that I've lost a signal due to ice. When I spoke to the DirecTV rep this morning she suggested a dish cover to help with the ice and snow. I'm curious if it will really help or is it a waste of time.

A black plastic bag is your best and cheapest dish cover.

I agree. I have had a black garbage bag over mine for years, tied at the bottom of the mount. Works great, and cheap.

im in south jersey and i use rainex on the dish 2 time s a year. nothing sticks to it at all, no dirt as with pam or other sprays
