Without knowing your exact Long & Lat, you look good
90 minus 62.5 = 27.5
27.5 + your local Declination = about 32

Where you made your first measurement is only done with the Dish at it's Zenith (highest point)

I think your angles are close enough for C Band

List what you have setup in the Receiver's Sat Setup menu

Yes that is one of the places I have been reading. My Lat is 27 20'23.35"N
Long 82 30'18.91"W

My Pansat 2500 for 123 Galaxy 18
LNB type: Standard
LNB local Freq : 5150
22kHz : on
Diseqc : off
Legacy SW : none
Skew : 51
Tp : 3920 V 26.470
Positioner Setting : USALS
Satellite Scan : All

you say first measurement is only done with the Dish at it's Zenith (highest point)

I read where it is done at True South which is where I took the measurement,
is that the same as highest point ?

Kinda. When you are properly aligned, the Dish's Zenith is at your True South Sat.

There is nothing Active on AMC9 right now, there may be a few feeds later
I would drive the Dish to the West a little and Blind Scan

I only took it to south to take a measurement
I figured that there was nothing near my true south active right now . that's why I have been trying galaxy 18 .

If you are not using a switch, then the setting does not matter.

I would try Galaxy 17 @ 91 west, many powerful TPs there, and it's just a little to the west of your True South Sat.

I will turn off the switch.

should I set the tp to the list in the " I need a strong transponder thread "
91 (G17 AKA G11)-12050 V 13350

You need a C Band TP (4 digits)
I would try:
Freq: 3800
Polarity: Horizontal
Scan Rate: 30000

and

Freq: 3820
Polarity: Vertical
Scan Rate: 30000

Ok I will try to get back on the roof when the sun goes down.

I did a blind scan before I knew I had the wrong settings and it came up with 14 channels half of them had noise and all had some kind of scrambled looking mess .

I erassed all of them and set the correct Tp

and nothing yet

Things you should have mentioned "yesterday" LOL
:)

That would have given a clue to where you are pointed.

that was just this morning when before I changed the TP to the ones you posted

I did a blind scan and looks like I am picking up G17 unless it is saying G17 because that is what I told it to scan !!

down freq 4093 symbol rate 14.028

I have 6 channels only one picking up video and audio
it is a show about the doors but the channel says
clear feed sd channel

After the doors show it said pbs.org

Yes, you're thinking is correct. The receiver is the dumbest thing there is. :) "You" are the intelligent link between the receiver and the dish. The receiver doesn't really know what Sat the Dish is pointed at.

If your Dish is pointing to the South, I'd guess you are on Galaxy 28 @ 89 west.
At this point, in G17 setup menu (even though your prob at G28) I'd select a TP that shows a Quality and play with the Skew to peak signal. Then "you" have to determine what that TPs actual Polarity is, cross reference at lyngsat.com/america.html.

I played with the skew, searched from east to west, now I remember what is was like to find new things to watch.

Thank you all for all the help getting me going, in the right direction,

I have found many different things to watch from east to west ,

The servo doesn't seam to be working on V and when I do blindscans I end up with alot of Ku Tp' as well as C Tp's is that normal?

My thinking is since I can get H TP's or V if I removed the servo and set it manually

I prob wont be moving the dish

I was thinking just removing the servo and using the C lnb I have on a fixed sat and installing a new C/KU lnbf beside the one I have ,

If this is a good Ideal,
what LNBF should I get ?

I use the DMX741, with good results, for me at least.

In the Pansat, I believe you need to set the Skew Values for both Horz and Vert.
