DISH Network Broadcasts Presidential Candidate Documentaries on Pay-Per-View

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. - Oct. 28, 2004 - EchoStar Communications Corporation and its DISH Network(tm) (NASDAQ: DISH), the fastest growing television service provider in the last four years, announced today that it is broadcasting separate documentary films about presidential candidates President George W. Bush and Sen. John Kerry.

The documentaries, "George W. Bush: Faith in the White House" and "Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry," are available through Nov. 3 on channels 463 and 464 to more than 10 million customers on DISH On Demand Pay-Per-View.

"George W. Bush: Faith in the White House," portrays the President's faith and prayer life, and shows his unseen side -- from his childhood in Midland, Texas, to his time as governor of Texas, and into his role as the nation's chief executive. The documentary is based on two recent, best-selling, non-fiction books: "George W. Bush On God and Country," by Tom Freiling (Allegiance Press/FaithWorks) and "A Man of Faith: The Spiritual Journey of George W. Bush," by David Aikman (W Publishing Group).

"Going Upriver: The Long War of John Kerry," is a feature-length documentary about character and moral leadership during a time of national crisis. Loosely based on the best-selling book, "Tour of Duty," by Douglas Brinkley, "Going Upriver" examines the story of John Kerry and the key events that shaped his character and made him a national figure. The film emphasizes his bravery during the Vietnam War and his opposition to the war upon his return.

Each documentary is available for $3.99 and can be ordered by remote control, by calling 1-877 DISH PPV (347-4778), or by visiting www.dishnetwork.com/ppv.
