Check around first!!! Dish has the HIGHEST prices on those tv's compared to sharpdirect, tigerdirect.com etc..Do your research before buying those tv's from dish.

You forgot S/H in your comparison

I made one comparison and when you add the S/H there is no savings buying the TV from TigerDirect. For the LC42D64U TigerDirect wants $1499.99 + $65.48 for S/H = $1545.67. You get the same TV delivered through Dish for $1519.20. I would say it costs you $26.47 MORE to buy it from TigerDirect!!

Or, did I miss something???

I just looked at the SharpDirect webs site and they'll let you have the same LC42D64U TV for only $1799.99!!

How would anyone figure that's a savings vs getting it from Dish for $1519.20???

Did I REALLY miss something???

Just beware that Sharp has had serious banding issues reported on their larger screens (46+). Avsforum.com threads are filled with the banding discussions. The larger ones come out of their new factory which they apparently have some problems with still.

Here is a link to a video that demonstrates the problem http://youtube.com/watch?v=kV5iv5TIT-M

Unless dish changed their prices,
When i was looking the other day TV Model LC46D62U is available for $2,199.99 directly on the SharpDirect website. This same TV is on TigerDirect.com for $1,699.99. Both offer free shipping However, if I buy through Dish Network, the price is $2,639.20,

I dont work for anyone involved, and dont care who people buy from. I was just telling people to check around and dont assume that the dish deal is the cheapest.

If that's a reasonably accurate comparison, then what Dish is charging is ethically criminal.

As a promo to pick up new customers, these TVs should be no more than a few percent above cost and inline with internet sites and other places that are not dealing with showroom overhead, etc.

I don't have to tell you who Dish will be hurting most with these kind of deals - the elderly and the technically challanged.

As I already said in another posting of this topic, Dish isn't saving you money. Its a scam, a very big scam. As what others said already in this post, HELLO idiots wake up. You aren't saving money, its a total rip off.

Broken link

The link to the Sharp prices takes me back to the E* home page. It worked last week though.
