Programming News from Dish Network

New Channel Launched on DISH Network

· ESPNU – 24-hour college sports network launched on DISH Network on Thursday, September 22, 2005, available on channel 148 (on the 110° orbital location). It will be added to AT180 and above at no extra charge.
Entertainment Package Changes

· SOAPnet (effective as of October 12, 2005) and CSTV (effective as of October 5, 2005) programming have been rolled down from AT180 to AT120!

Programming Changes
· Sabres – Even though the Empire Regional Sports Network has ceased operations, Sabre NHL games have been picked up by MSG Network. DISH Network has expanded the MSG territory to allow certain areas of the states of New York and Pennsylvania coverage of the Sabres (the added zip codes are listed below). MSG is part of AT60plus and above at no extra charge to customers within the qualifying zip codes. New accounts will receive this service at time of activation and the service has been added to the accounts of qualifying existing customers.

? MSG Network Expanded Areas – In New York, the zip code ranges added to the MSG Network territory include zip codes beginning with: 129-132, 136, and 140-146; within Pennsylvania, they include: 163-165, and 167.

? Areas that already receive the MSG Network that can now receive 2005-2006 NHL Buffalo Sabre coverage include zip codes beginning with: 120-125, 127-149, 163-165, 167, 169, 177 and 188.
New International Channels

· Aaj Tak – #1 rated 24-hour Hindi-language news channel is currently available on channel 585 (at 61.5° & 148° orbital locations), and on channel 794 (at 121° orbital location).

? Free Preview – October 6, 2005 through October 20, 2005 on channel 794 (at 121° orbital location). After the free preview, you can continue viewing this channel by purchasing either the new News Add On entertainment package or the Mega Pack, detailed below (under New International Entertainment Package).

· Headlines Today – 24-hour English-language news channel broadcast from India with programming geared to a young, on-the-move, urban audience. Available on channel 586 (at 61.5° & 148° orbital locations), and channel 813 (at 121° orbital location).

? Free Preview – October 6, 2005 through October 20, 2005 on channel 813 (at 121° orbital location). After the free preview, you can also continue viewing this channel by purchasing either the new News Add On entertainment package or the Mega Pack, detailed below (under New International Entertainment Package).

· KBS World – This Korean-language channel, which is the oldest and most popular broadcasting station in Korea, has changed its name from KBS to KBS World. KBS World will continue to be available in the Korean Variety Pack and Korean Basic Pack. As of October 6, 2005, KBS World is also available on channel 9850 at no additional charge to customers who subscribe to a minimum of AT60, DISH Latino or Great Wall TV Package, and have a SuperDISH antenna pointed at the 121° orbital location.

· JSTV – On October 20, 2005, DISH Network will launch JSTV, which is the #1 rated 24-hour-a-day Korean-language Christian channel in North America. It will be added to the Korean Variety Pack and Korean Basic Pack at no additional charge, available on channel 654 (at 61.5° & 148° orbital locations), or on channel 668 (at 121° orbital location).
New International Entertainment Package

· News Add On – With the launch of Aaj Tak and Headlines Today, DISH Network has created a new package called “News Add On.” It includes Sahara Samay, Aaj Tak and Headlines Today. The cost for News Add On is currently $9.99 per month or $109.89 per year.

? Mega Pack – Additionally, Aaj Tak and Headlines Today channels have been added to the Mega Pack at no additional charge. The Mega Pack can currently be purchased for $49.99 per month or $599.88 a year.

? If an eligible customer does not subscribe to the Mega Pack, he or she may subscribe to News Add On which is included with a subscription to any South Asian channel or package. Please note that customers who do not subscribe to a minimum of AT60, DISH Latino or Great Wall TV Package programming will be charged a $5 per month Service Access fee.
Please remember that a SuperDISH antenna is required to receive programming broadcast from the 121° orbital location.
International Channel Changes

· SBS Korean-language channel – SBS will no longer be offered on DISH Network effective as of October 1, 2005, including in the Korean Variety Pack and the Korean Basic Pack on channel 650 (at 61.5° & 148° orbital locations) or channel 702 (at 121° orbital location).

? $10 One-Time Credit – We will be applying a one-time $10 credit to each eligible existing Korean Variety Pack or Korean Basic Pack subscriber’s bill which will be posted this week. If you would like to express your opinion to SBS Korea about the removal of their channel, you can contact them directly at 011-82-2-2001-6745 or 011-82-2-2061-0006.
International Incentive

· $50 International Incentive – This incentive continues through December 31, 2005, and applies only to activations of International services of $9.99 or higher. The great news is that participating retailers across the country are using this incentive among other things to grow their international business. Examples include increasing advertising, offering gifts to new customers such as a DVD player, offering money for referrals, etc.

Pay-Per-View
Movies premiering in October – Monster-in-Law (PG-13), Sahara (PG-13), The Ring Two (Unrated), Crash (R) and The Amityville Horror (R).

DISH Network Season Ticket

NHL Center Ice – NHL Hockey is back! And NHL Center Ice has the most coverage possible with over 1,100 games during the season, as well as the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup playoffs and select games broadcast in high definition.

· Early Bird Package – tell customers that they can get $30 off the full season price if they order NHL Center Ice by October 31, 2005, which comes to $129 or 3 payments of $43.

NBA League Pass – Offer customers maximum NBA coverage with the NBA League Pass. This package provides over 1,000 out-of-market games, and includes NBA TV and NBA Stats Central.

· Regular Season Package - $189 or 3 payments of $63.
 
Season Passes

Any sense of when/if they might do a Pro Football season pass? I had heard that DirectTV had an exclusive for a period of time.

It will be a long while. I think the current deal doesn't end until 2010. It's one of DirecTV's biggest draws and they probably won't be letting it go if they can avoid it.
 
Not exactly true!!! There are rumours of an NFL mini package thats supposed to start in 2007!!!That may be available to other providers
