I'm contemplating the switch from Charter to Dish, and was wondering about the Remote that comes with the 622 and 211 HD receivers. I really like the current ones that came with our SA 8X00 boxes because they control our cable box, tv, dvd and amp. They can be set to control the power of all the hardware at once, and you can set the volume to control the amp when are you in "cable" mode, etc. Do the Dish remotes have this kind of functionality, or will I be needing to be some kind of expensive uber-remote at best buy?

Thanks,
Mitch

Dish remotes do have the kind of functionality you seek (provided you have fairly major brands and not super-cheap brands). It is best if you go the Dish Tech Portal website and download the instructions for the remotes. Then you can really make an inmformed decision.

Thanks for the reply. Any idea which remotes come with the 622 and 211 boxes?

I checked the online documentation and found mention about the aux volume control settting, but nothing regarding being able to make the power button operate all devices with one click. Can anyone confirm if this works from experience?

Thanks,
Mitch

It won't turn all items off with one click, get a Harmony remote if you want to do that.

Good point. The wife will have no way to argue now since it will be for her benefit ;)
